Entebbe – Kibale Forest National Park | The Primate Capital of the World

After breakfast, depart Entebbe and begin your 20 Days East Africa Safari Experience westward toward the lush Kibale Forest National Park, famously known as the Primate Capital of the World. This scenic drive takes approximately six hours, passing through verdant countryside, tea plantations, and rolling hills characteristic of western Uganda. Today marks the highlight of your entire 20 Days East Africa Safari Experience the once-in-a-lifetime mountain gorilla trekking experience. After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for registration and briefing. You will be assigned to a specific gorilla family group and led into the forest by expert trackers and armed rangers. The trek may take from one to several hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, but the reward is beyond measure.

Standing just meters away from a family of gorillas observing their behavior, communication, and gentle human-like mannerisms is one of the most moving wildlife encounters on earth. After spending the allotted hour with these majestic creatures, return to the starting point to receive your tracking certificate.

In the afternoon, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa.” The lake’s serene waters and terraced hills provide a perfect retreat after days of adventure. You may choose to take a canoe ride, swim, or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil scenery.
